Sister Ernestine and I sat down with Ben, a potential contractor/builder for the Just Like My Child, Kiwanula school building project. He is has built several of the structures here at Bishop Asili, including the very house that I live in. We gave him some general drawings of the school and asked him to draw up realistic bills of quantity. We want the school to be well built, but not ostentatious. We asked him to separate each major part of the budget so that it’s easy to understand the cost for the school buildings, the latrines, the teachers housing and the school kitchen. We also asked him to draw up a time line for each part of the construction assuming that he had the resources needed to buy all of the materials. He assured me that the blue prints, budget and time line would all be completed by a week from today. When he returns, Sister Ernestine and I will review his plans and move forward from there.http://www.justlikemychild.com/
